  1. Aline’s paper “Prevalent chromosome fusion in Vibrio cholerae O1” is out in Nature Comms. Read Aline’s blog post or a Bluesky thread here.
  2. Former postdocs Gavin Douglas and Nicolas Tromas have started their own labs, respectively at UNB and INRAE. Check out their latest preprint Co-occurrence drives horizontal gene transfer among marine prokaryotes.
  3. Akhil’s first preprint Nutrient Enrichment and Connectivity Jointly Shape Bacterioplankton Diversity is now out, in collaboration with the LEAP team!
  4. Chuhan’s first paper, with Patrick, Aline, and collaborators at UF & icddr,b is now out: Vibrio cholerae lineage and pangenome diversity vary geographically across Bangladesh over 1 year.
  5. Naima’s paper Phage predation, disease severity, and pathogen genetic diversity in cholera patients got an honorable mention for the 2024 Omenn Prize.
